Who

Welcome to the Rape and Abuse Support Centre Southland Incorporated (RAASC) website. We are a non-profit, community agency run by women. We support women and children who have been affected by sexual violence and help them on their journey towards healing.

What

Our main activities include support work (help with getting things done), counsellors (help with exploring behaviours, thoughts and feelings) and education (letting the community know how about rape and sexual abuse).

Why

Abuse affects everyone. RAASC is not a crisis only service. RAASC provides help for women and girls that have been raped or experienced any form of sexual violence---whether as adults or as children. Many women contact us years, or even decades, after they have been raped or sexually abused because it can change your life in ways that can be difficult to talk about. The women who work and volunteer at RAASC will not judge you or your actions. We believe rape is never a woman's fault. We know it is hard to make the first step, so welcome to our website, we hope it will help you. Personal support is as easy as an email or phone call.
